Life is a show

Once, my most favourite rock singer song writer, my inspirer, said, "life is a show". I didn't get what it means at first but then I gradually understood what he wanted to tell us.

I started burlesque and yoga few weeks ago, and belly dancing last week. These activities gave me a huge inspiration of being on a stage.

I always dreamt about being in a show business, or more like stage musical. I'm not that into "acting-acting" because its too serious. But musical with dance and sing. Of course there is acting but musical always interests me and always makes me want to go upto the stage.

I have up this dream because I can't stay in Australia for that. And well frankly, it's hard to make money right.

But recently, I'm in the hell anyway with no hope in my life, why don't I start something new as a hobby first.

So here goes the dancing. But not its not enough. I wanna song too. So I started looking for a vocal lesson too. Then, I found one near my house lol.

Ill see how things go. But I'm so excited about this whole new world!

I started writing a story as well. I'm not aiming to publish or something but its just this is what I used to do when I was kid. I'm also excited about how the story ends!

Anyway, so much to do! And apparently Tuesday is gonna be so hot here in Melbourne, so..beach time!!!(yes I have dayoff!)

Burlesque Night@Bohemia and Teddy Bear

On Wednesday night after work, I went out with my friend from uni.

Weird, we've met in Japan, and I had absolutely no idea that she lives here.
Well she is mix of Japanese mum and Aussie dad so I had a faint idea that she might but I thought she is from Perth so I didn't thought she lives in Melbourne!

We went to Bohemia to watch cabaret/burlesque. It was her first time hehe :P

Introducing someone to this burlesque world is a bit tricky, but usually girls are always interested. Boys, they get frowned a bit sometimes lol.

Anyhow,  Bohemia is the place I watched burlesque show for the first time. My friend, bartender used to work with them as an opening staff, so I was told to come and see it.

First night, that was just so...interesting.

It's not like watching porn, but not like comedy either.
It was the Art of Tease.

Wednesday was not all about burlesque so I'll definitely ask her out to join me for saturday night or friday night show :)

Today, I got a teddy from my bestie in Japan. I sent her kangaroo one last week, and boom, she sent me a starbucks bearista.

We have met in Starbucks in 2007. We have been working together for 3 years and we became good friends and she is like my lil sister. I miss her so much, so I asked her to send something that I can take to everywhere and hang out together, just like old days :)

I haven't named him yet so I have to think about it but can't think of any! :P

Then I went to yoga, which was the hardest class I've ever taken! :( Well I had massage this evening, so it's all good! :)

Dinner was easy garlic prawn and chorizo with coriander and olives and tomato :)

So addicted to chorizo lately! :D Yum!!!

Burlesque lesson

Burlesque 3rd session tonight. The lesson is always so fun, so fun that I wish that the time stopped for awhile!

It is whole new world. It makes me feel like I'm one hell of a sexy sassy naughty girl. I'm not that fit, I'm short in Australia (still 5'5), my thighs are big and my belly, OH MY belly. But somehow in the burlesque, I feel I'm so hot!

I'm very cheeky one by nature but this burlesque makes me more cheekier.

I just love it every bits!! :)

Hectic days

Oh My, it was such a hectic week!!!
My burlesque lesson on Monday, Wednesday I started yoga(apparently combination o yoga and ballet) at barre body in CBD. It was fantastic experience, however my bum are in the great pain!!! ;-)
Today after the yoga session in the morning, I went to lululemon(which is my favourite sport wear shop in the last 2 years) to buy my very first yoga mat! Excited indeed! :)

I'm extremely tired this week so I just went to cafe near my house and stayed there reading over a scone and cream and jam..well I know you would wonder if I wanna lose weight or not. The point is, I wanted to make myself busy as possible, and just want to fit. I don't wanna lose any pounds actually. After I gained few pounds in Melbourne, I found it I am on the perfect weight at this very moment. I was way too thin in Brisbane. You lose weight without effort up there. Trust me.
So I just need to tighten up my body, and change far into muscle, but not gym type muscle but more feminine body.

So, next week is gonna be more insane schedule. Monday burlesque, Tuesday bellydance, Wednesday yoga, Thursday yoga and massage, Friday ill go for loooong walk, Saturday meow meow burlesque/cabaret show, Sunday yoga.

Omg I hope I'm not gonna be too tired. Should be okay. I'm still young ;-)

Mordialloc beach

I got up early today even on dayoff, and I went to Mordialloc beach :)

My sandals above are my favourite Nine West, I think they were 2010 model. So colourful and they instantly make me feel summer has come! :)

I have never been to this beach but it remind me of the beach I have been to somewhere in Australia.

I love beach.

This is one of the reasons why I moved down to Australia.

The beach in Victoria is nothing compare to the ones in Queensland I am used to but still the contrast of the white sand, dark ocean blue and sky blue makes me feel so happy :)

Interesting that the sand is different everywhere!

I went to Chelsea Beach when we had few lovely summer days last week. The water seems more clear in Mordialloc and the beach is so much bigger than Chelsea. But it seems more people and noise in Mordialloc. I was lying on the beach for 3 hours but all I heard was different languages; French, German, Chinese, Indian and English. How amusing.

When I was in Queensland, I used to go to Currumbin Creek, which is quite south part of Gold Coast. Very local beach spot I assume. Mordialloc apparently has a creek as well so I was excited to go and have a look but it seems it's just a boat dock.. What a Shame!

But I liked the way people walking around with their bare feet and in a surf shorts and bikini. Reminding me of GC so bad. I felt like I'm back in beach culture, and it was nostalgic

Anyhow, I finally booked Yoga and also waiting for the confirmation from Belly Dancing class.

So excited to start new thing(yoga) and the dance I used to learn back in Japan(belly dancing). Tomorrow is Burlesque lesson.

Night all! x

Tropic

I talked about the NARS "Tropic" eye shadow. It was just on the edge yesterday and this is the one with full-on on my eye lids.

Isn't it so bright lovely colour? :)
Loving' it!

My day is slow. So slow.
Could be be because of the weather but I really wanna go hooooome!!!

It's Friday (well in my case it's still Thursday but!)!!!!!

I went to Daiso on Swanston st for some work and personal shop and then I came to Starbucks.

I know everyone says that I'm crazy to go to Starbucks if I'm living in Melbourne.

BUT, if you start work early and finish late, there's no cafe which is still open and since I was working for Starbucks for 4 years back home, it's hard to get over it. I still come back for their paper filtered coffee (aka. Brewed coffee).

I love pour over and filtered coffee in any coffee shop but Starbucks roasts darker than the cafe in Melbourne. The coffee in Melbourne is very sensitive and even though I still love it, I feel like I'm drinking tea. I love full bodied coffee, just like wine ;-)

Anyway, my day is over finally.

Everyone seems happy because it's Friday but to me, it's same as one of the week nights. Friday is usually my Starbucks night.

Not thinking anything but just doing something doesn't make any sense to others!

One more day to my day off! :)

11 Oct 2012

Eye shadow and a little fortunate event

Arrrrgggghhhh it's such a cold day!!!!! Hope everyone is not gonna get sick from the weather change!

Yesterday, after I went to facial in town, I was completely off make-up, wondering around in cosmetic section in Myer. I love NARS products so I was just thinking which colours I should get next.

I know this summer is all about bold make-up with simple bright lippie, and I do love bold make-up but I am sometimes tempted to get something new to me and something different.

The colours you can be completely different to yourself.

This time, I tried "tropic".

So bright and makes my eye twinkle!

It also makes me feel like Ariel in "Little Mermaid" somehow :)

Anyway, I tried them on and everyone was like "wow..".

So yep I had to buy it ;-)

I put this colour on my lids Yesterday but I did a bit of twist this morning.

Start with any greeny base. I used the green from Revlon-Adventurous. Then I added Tropic on the edge.

I'm assuming adding darker colour on the edge works better on the almond shaped eyes, or more like the single edged eyelids, like mine because it makes the eyes look more bigger. One colour on my eye lids is okay but it looks too heavy. Gradation works better on mine.

Eye Liner is dark blue. Like real dark blue. I just used the one of eye shadow from Maybelline, Sapphire Siren.

I might try the one colour tomorrow (if I have time before work lol).

I had meeting after shopping (ON MY DAYOFF..geez!)

Then I bumped into my old co-worker so we went out for a drink. Well mine is mocktail :)

I know the bartender, so I just asked him to make up "China Blue" even though they don't have that blue liquor thing :P *Annoying customer*

But it turned to be such a summary drink and it did taste like china blue. Well Done! :)

Anyway, I was just chatting with her, my ex co-worker, and she told me that she started photography, and she asked me if she can use me as a model :P

Of course I said.."Why not? ;-)"

It was such a lovely time.

I had a late morning shift, so I went to cafe to have a branch, and went to post office to send off some pressie for my friend in Japan.

Then I realised there were some 2013 journals and I found her!!!!

She is always my favourite actress and the post office staff told me that she ordered just one of this design(there are other designs), and said I'm such a lucky one ;-)

YEP I THINK SO TOO! :D

So happy this morning even though the work was not really good.. :-/

One of my staff was leaving today.. Our fantastic barista.

He just made up short mac for the last coffee.

It was the sweetest coffee I've ever had! :)

Everyone is leaving. Such a stress. But to get rid of it, I just went for a walk in botanic garden.

It was refreshing! :)

My week has just began..time to rest! x

The 1/4 pounding

I was dead. DEAD.

Still dead partly: my heart.

It's hard to heal and not sure how long it takes.

But I'm gonna try to make this blog to make my feeling better with trying to find a tiny little happiness in daily life.

Small happiness become a huge happiness eventually.

And since my Facebook is becoming like my diary, why not trying to keep blog daily basis?

Anyway here we go.

The 1/4 pounding has just began.

So on Tuesday night, I went to see a show at Revolt theatre in Kensington.

It's part of fringe festival.

Anyway, I watched "Aphrodite's bordello" first.

It was funny, crazy, and all the girls in temple doing "secret and pure service" (aka prostitution).

It has cabaret, burlesque and bit of comedy.

Since I started learning burlesque since this Monday, I was so interested into how they act.

Anyway, it was good fun.

When it finished, it was raining outside.

I decided to go back to theatre, and started talking to the bartender,

One of the guys has the most beautiful long hair I've ever seen. So jealous.

Then one gentleman asked me if id like to watch another one.

It sounds interesting so I said "sure why not! It's cheap Tuesday, it doesn't hurt me much."

So I bought a ticket for "The 1/4 pounding".

I felt like I have seen one of the actors but I couldn't tell which show she played.

Eventually I realised it was Mel Dodge, who played "Jane Austen is dead". I watched that play with my friend, Kara, who is also an actor.

Anyway, I waited an hour till the show start. So I was chatting out with the bartenders. Still jealous about his hair!

Then I went to the room. Apparently it was opening night. Full of people.

It was simple stage set up. 2 boxes and clothes.

I can't tell how wonderful the ladies were. They suddenly became mid20 girls, then their mothers, old ladies, and sometimes even men.

I was stunned with their performance but also the script. It was just like my life! I'm in mid20, full of shit, and in a 1/4 life crisis.

Recently got out of long relationship, meaning single. Everyone is getting married, having kids, home owner and have wonderful career.

Me? Still on working holiday visa, I'm living in somewhere I don't like( say cold Melbourne) but I can't get out of here. Away from home even though I think Australia is my home. Melbourne is definitely not my home but lol.

I started getting freckles, need to go to facial, can't stay up till late, easy to get tire *sigh*

It was so shocking to know everyone having same crisis as i do.

It made me feel easier and felt my hear lifted a bit.

I couldn't stay longer (it was 11pm, you know it's time to bed! Lol) so I couldn't say how great they were in person.

But instead, please please go and check out their play! It will never let you down. Even though you are still younger than mid 20 or over mid 20, I guarantee you will have a great time :)

Cumulus Inc.

Well this photo was from yesterday lunch.

My boyfriend was talking about Cumulus on Flinders Lane before, and I was close by so I decided to go and grab some coffee with my workmate.

I took away lamb sandwich and coffee.

This sandwich was so good!!!

It was sweet and spicy, and I just loved it!!

We went to another cafe to grab another coffee nearby, and one of the staff there noticed my sandwich and she just said to me "The best sandwich ever!!!"

I'm wondering if it's a nice place to come down for dinner as well..

I might give it a go next time :)

Melbourne in the rain

I had a meeting at new shop today and met a lot of new people mostly our suppliers.

My goodness, so many names to remember!! Hehe

I was a bit tired because so many things going on at the same time..

Hopefully everything turns out well.

I just finished work and it is raining but Melbourne looks so pretty in the rain :)

State of Origin Game 2

Tonight is the night!

State of Origin Game 2..as I mentioned in a previous blog, I'm a Queensland supporter!

I was watching with my boyfriend's family without him lol.

Unfortunately he has an exam tomorrow..so he missed it.

Anyway they are from Queensland (him, his sister&him mum moved down to Melbourne 6-7years ago) and his sis's husband is born in Melbourne so he goes for family team.

I, myself, lived in Brisbane for awhile and believe that I'm a queenslander too, so I go for Maroons as well!

We went to watch the first game at Etihad stadium in Melbourne, and Queensland won*hooray!*.

This time, the game was on in Sydney, so the supporters are pretty much all blues(NSW team colour is blue, QLD team colour is maroon).

Well, to be honest, it was a tough game, and it looked like the ground was a bit slippery.

But as a qld supporter, it was such a bad game too...they kept dropping the ball and missed all the chances..:(

A lot of injuries tonight too..

We lost, but I say it was fair enough and we will win on the game 3 in Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, QLD!

We can't loooooooose!!!!!

I'm sad but let's just forget it. NSW should feel happy sometimes since they have been loosing the games 6 years in a row(correct?) :P

Can't wait for the game 3. It will be good!

Queenslander!!!! :)

New shop

This morning, I got up late..,as usual, and head down to city for coffee training.

Coffee making and also food tasting.

The food was fantastic and coffee is getting better :)
Exciting moment!!

State I origin game 2 is on tonight and watching it with my bf's family without my bf lol

They are all from Queensland and I've been in Queensland for long time so of course we are all going for Maroons!!!!!!

Go Queenslander!!!!!! :)

Market Lane Coffee and Alison's Handmade Bread

It was such a beautiful day today so I've decided to go to Prahran Market.

I could have gone to Victoria Market but I somehow prefer Prahran one more since it's much quieter, and also it is closer to my place :P

Also I wanted to get a lovely bread from Alison's Handmade Bread (Addy is at the bottom of the blog).

It is located just off Chapel Street, near safeway/coles.

She makes beautiful bread.

My boyfriend loves her bread (and so do I!), so I've decided to buy some for him.

I bought a Rye&Sunflower multigrain one.

It is $8 but it really worth it!

I wasn't so sure if that is my bf's favourite, but thanks for Alison's help, it really was his fav after all! :)

Please please try out her bread.

It is such a fantastic bread. No preservative but it lasts very long

Well after shopping, I went to Market Lane Coffee

This specialised coffee shop is the one who has been training on my new cafe.

They are fantastic and so passionate about their coffee!

Me and 2 other barista from my new shop went together to do coffee tasting.

We just hide all the answers written on the papers in the photo first.

Weird thing is, I guessed all correct!

I was happy that I actually practised a lot back in Starbucks days!*Yay!*

We had a great time at Market Lane!

We definitely should do these tasting competition thing at our new cafe too! :)

After catch up, the boys went home and I left to my bf's place to drop off the bread.

Haven't seen him for a week, looked very exhausted from his study :(

Good luck on the next exam!! :)

Anyway, I need to go back to "work"..!

Good night!

More than a year!

It's been AWHILE!!!

Well it's been more than a year..oops again!

I successfully graduated from school and was the first to graduate *hooray!*

I moved down to Melbourne in Feb (from Brisbane) since my boyfriend lives here
*let's talk about him next time :P*

And I was offered a restaurant manager position! *woo hoo!*

Although I still miss the beautiful Queensland weather, life is good here.

I was so frustrated with my visa situation

It kinda worked out!

I still have to go to Japan this coming July to change my visa

But my owners  mentioned about sponsorship (and that is why they offered me a manager role too)

So I might be able to stay in Australia, and which is a fantastic news for me!

I am so excited to manage new place!

It is my first experience so I've got loads of things to learn

But I'm looking forward to it  at the same time :)

My team and staff are very passionate about coffee making!

I just hope everything goes well..!! :)

Life in Australia

Okay, it's been more than a year since the last post. OOPS!!!
My life in Australia is just great. I love it every moment.
It's like finally my dream has come true.

Then the law has changed.

I don't think I can get next visa.
I thought I can get graduate temporary visa.

I've been studying here for 2 years because that was the requirement from the government.
Now all my classmates spent HEAPS of money on Australia, and we have been working very hard in this industry, and they just said "No" to us.

They are going to kick us out.

There is no way to get next visa to stay here.
The only way is probably going to regional or mining area and get sponsorship from the company or from the state government, which is really difficult since we are all live in CBD area.

All I wanted to be since my childhood is an Aussie. I don't want Permanent Residency. I just want to change my nationalities. Some people think I'm a weirdo, but who cares?

Government just rip off from students and kick us out after graduation. That's is soooo unfair. It's A LOT of money. And I can't get a full time job if I'm going back to Japan because it's A: Japan is economically poor at the moment, and B: nobody hires people who graduated from uni 2 years ago. I've given up everything to come here and now the government asks me to give up more. I'll be technically a refugee if they kick me out from here. I
I really hate this.

Plus, baby boomer is retiring next yer, how can Australia survive? It's too obvious..answer is only migrants.

I just wish they would recognise their problem as soon as possible..because they are loosing millions of money and millions of workforce.

Well it's new year. See how it goes and see positive side!

22 May 2010

Less than a month till...

OhMyGod!
I just realised that I didnt post for awhile. I wasn't busy but I have kept cleaning up my room for Australia, and it's so annoying. I hate cleaning up. Now I packed all my clothes and precious stuff into my suitcase, but I still have lots of things to clean up...grrr I feel like it will never end!!!!!!!
I'm also looking for an accommodation in Melbourne(after staying with my friend). I'm cancelling the place I booked once because I found a better place. Then I found much more better place..and..you know it continues hahaha. I'm not like plan-in-advance type of person, so I don't like this searching on the net stuff. I rather go there and look for a place when I get there, but I don't want to do it this time because I'm bringing my precious stuff with me in a HUGE suitcase and some other BIG bags. So yeh, I should stay in somewhere safe but not TOO expensive. I found a dormitory with a seculity lockers and card key, but still not sure..haha!!

From tomorrow, I'm visiting my old work mates in my previous starbucks. I cannot wait for seeing them!!!! I haven't seen them like for a half year!!! It will be a great night out!

Have a lovely weekend! xxx

Continental Cheese Cake

Ah! I didn't write much lately!! It's been crazy busy...of cleaning up my-messed-up room haha.
It's quite a mess..I really need to focus on it..I only have 38days now until I leave my room!

Anyway,my mum's birthday tomorrow, so I've decided to make something.
I've been thinking what is good to make..and then just realised that she loves continental cheese cake so much.
I have never made cheese cakes(and I dont like them much haha), so I'm not sure if it's yum or not!!! But I hope she loves it :)

9 May 2010

Such a mess

Hello ppl!
Today I FINALLY started cleaning up my room. It's still quite messy, but I guess I did pretty well!
It was such a beautiful day, so I've decided to go outside for abit before the cleaning-up. I used to go to Southbank alot when I was staying in Brisbane, but since I came back to Japan, it was winter, so I was staying in my house all the time. Now, summer has finally come, so I went out and was reading my favourite book-"Vanity Fair"-under the sun:)

*Southbank,Brisbane

And this is with my beloved dog-Dan!

He was abandoned and I found him in my backyard. It's been 4 years already. So, we still dont know how old he is...He has been such a good boy, and we love him so so sooooo much!!!:) I wish I could show him Australia but I know its quite hard to do..:( I will miss him!

Well, back to the cleaning. I found heaps of books my mum bought when I was a kid. I still dont know what to do with them! Oh and I also found lots of photos as well...and I started looking at all of them hahaha ;) I still dont know what to bring to Australia!!! ahhh I hate cleaning up my room!!!!!!!

Then I went to the theatre for a movie! It's a Jap one and is called "TRICK". It's a really wicked one, and I loved it so much!!!! I'd love to watch it again hahaha

Have a lovely sunday x

6 May 2010

Melbourne, here I come!!

YAY!
I just booked a room in Melbourne and also booked a flight from Melb to Brisbane!!:)
One of my snailmail penpals offered me to stay at her place for the first week (Thanks Kelly!!), and then I'm staying in the city. I was thinking about staying in somewhere cool and nice but I just love to stay with a bunch of people in a domitory room at backpackers! So, I've decided to book a 8 share domitory! BUT..I just realised that its not "female only" room..lol Silly me. Well if its such a bad place and if everyones in my room will be all guys, then I will ask the staff to change the room or just cancell my stay and go to other backpackers!hahahaha
Awww I just cant wait for visiting Melb and all my friends there!!!

Have a great evening! x

5 May 2010

Crazy Wednesday

Oh well...It was crazy busy at work today!!!!! But it wasnt that busy like my previous starbucks shop, so I could manage to keep myself cool!! But I got this really hot boiled water on my left arm and then pretty hot steamed milk on the same place..not funny but I enjoyed this crazy busy day and I kinda loved it. My partners at starbucks are all awesome, and I really LOVE them!!! <3

So,today is the last day of the Hamamatsu festival. I finished work at 5p.m. and then I was chatting with my old friends from high school, and then I went out for dinner with my family, and we also checked out the festival! I've took some pics and also the videos! Enjoy!

From tomorrow, no more work for 8 days!! HELLOOOO MY BREAKS!!! hehe
I have no plans yet but am gonna think something to do tonight!!

Good night!! xox
